The the families came in over the weekend and did the gardening and finish all the odd jobs.

We have a very successful open day. Alpha playgroup had people in so the children can look around in the morning and the final inspection in the afternoon. So they are now ready to open for sessions on Monday.
The rest of the centre open day went well with people able to come in and look around with positive comments.

what a busy couple of weeks it has been. Steph and Tracy have been working so hard making sure every thing is getting done. The builders are in working hard all the jobs asked for should be done by the end of the week except the floor in the large hall as we have to wait for some warmer weather.
The kitchen is looking really good still in bits but we have new floor, walls, doors and units. The new youth room is moving along walls are down and replaced it is looking a lot more welcoming. Alpha playgroup room has new paint, doors and carpet and looks so much better.
The committee are in the centre this week tiding, cleaning and doing all the little things that need doing.
The Alpha playgroup ladies are very busy this week. all the toys and equipment has be delivered to the centre now they are cleaning and tiding until they drop.
We are still on track to sign the lease on Monday then things will start to really move.

what happening now

I know its been a while but we have been very busy, we now have charity status which was a long process but Steph the chair hung in there and answered all there question some times more than once.
We have applied for a grass roots grant which we have now got so we can get some insurance.
we are indecision with the council and are now finalising the details of the lease which we should be signing in the next 2 weeks.
Steph and Tracy have had several meeting with Swindon contractors to discuses repairs and refurbishment, they were pleasantly surprised at the councils willingness to make repairs and astonished at the amount of junk that is in the centre. the work has stared new fire doors have fitted and a much needed boiler has been installed.
Alpha playgroup have had there first Ofsted inspection and the playgroup room passed as did the out side play area.
Steph and Tracy did an inventory and this will be available to view at the next meeting and we have the opportunity to get some furniture from Premier House.
We have a new contact at the council his name is Andy,as Chris Hunt has now left, he is proving very efficient.
Tracy has been searching for grants. if anyone has any ideas please can you let us know.
As long as every thing go's to plain we should be opening on Monday 19th April 2010.
The next community meeting will be on Wednesday at 6.30 in the church. will let you know how it goes.
